CX-8 Personalization project development progress information 2nd !!

This time, I edited the progress information of the newly developed body reinforcement parts by excerpting from the members blog. I will mainly explain the differences from the CX-5.

① Member brace set
The front is the same as the CX-5, but for the rear section, the suspension arm mounting bolt diameter has been changed from 12 mm to 14 mm to ensure strength against increased vehicle weight.Also, the rear sidebar mounting pitch is slightly different.Therefore, we will remake the rear part and newly establish two product numbers for 8WD / 2WD vehicles as CX-4 exclusive products.

 

 

② Lower arm bar (rear)
Similarly, the diameter of the mounting bolts on the left and right lower arms is as large as 14 mm, so make minor changes.It is recommended to install it together with the front lower arm bar.

 

 

 

③ Floor crossbar
We have adopted a three-point system that mounts on the three-row seat rail mounting part and the center of the luggage compartment.The area around the rear damper mounting part is connected in a straight line, aiming for the same effect as the strut tower bar. It also supplements the annular structure of the C-pillar part used in the SKYACTIV body.

It can also be installed on vehicles equipped with the BOSE woofer, which is a manufacturer's option, and does not sacrifice luggage space.

 

④ Center floor bar
The mounting pitch between the seats is the same as the CX-5, but the floor shape is different, so it was newly designed.Since the front sea rail mounting part is mounted at a low position, care is taken to prevent the seat body and the bar from interfering with each other when sliding.

 

 

Body reinforcement parts under development will be announced next month.Together with the strut tower bar and lower arm bar (front) that are on sale in advance, it enhances the sense of unity between the driver and the CX-8!
