Motion control beam and damping effect

I can imagine the effect of increasing the rigidity of the MCB, but what is the damping effect? In fact, it is difficult to explain the vibration damping performance in words, and it is difficult to convey it in writing. So, this time, I would like to simplify the test data at the time of development in order to visualize the vibration damping performance.

The test is performed with "MCB installed" and "not installed", and the magnitude of the vibration generated in each is compared with the amount of vibration until it converges.By testing under the same conditions, it should be easier to imagine how it works, which has been moody until now. Those who have already installed it will be able to clarify the operation image and enjoy driving even more by superimposing their own experience and test data. Please refer to it.

The unit of vibration is acceleration (G), and the amount of vibration is expressed by the area as shown in the figure, so it is treated as a dimensionless quantity without using a unit.By the way, it feels good during cornering!fun! It is said that the acceleration (horizontal direction) that you feel is about 0.5G, and the world's No. 1 roller coaster has about 3.75G (front-back direction).

Now, let's first compare the vertical movements.

・ Test ① Comparison of vertical movement

In the test, we will run on a straight path with three stepped plates arranged at equal intervals until the generated vibration converges. There are 3 times of overcoming the step, and due to the relationship between the "wheelbase" and the "step plate", the first 2 times are overcame only with the front wheels, then the front and rear wheels are over at the same time, and the last is over 2 times with only the rear wheels. ..The comparison is from just before the rear wheels pass the last step until they converge. * Please refer to the enlarged view inside the dotted line.

・ Comparison of maximum values (A): With MCB (0.20G) Without MCB (0.26G) ・ ・ ・ 76%

・ Vibration amount (comparison of area): With MCB (250.3) Without MCB (351.3)・ ・ ・ ・71%

With the MCB installed, the maximum value was reduced to 76% and the overall vibration amount was reduced to 71%.

The following is a test assuming a lane change on a highway.

・ Test ② Comparison of left and right movements

The test compares a car traveling at a constant speed of 80km / h from the point C during the lane change to the point where it converges.
The difference from test (4) is that the direction of acceleration changes from "vertical direction" to "horizontal direction", and the maximum value of acceleration is more than four times larger. * Please refer to the enlarged view inside the dotted line.

・ Maximum value comparison (F): With MCB (0.85G) Without MCB (0.95G)・ ・ ・ ・89.4%

・ Vibration amount (comparison of area): With MCB (29.2) Without MCB (33.0)・ ・ ・ ・88.4%

With the MCB installed, the maximum value was reduced to 89.4% and the vibration amount was reduced to 88.4%.You can read the effect of vertical movement mainly on the feeling of riding.Specifically, depending on the step, you may feel uncomfortable or the corners of the ride may be rounded and you may feel calm. The left-right direction indicates the effect on maneuverability. It can be read that by installing the MCB, the swing back after the D point where the lane change is completed is reduced. In winding where the S-shaped curve continues, this is continuously amplified, so you can easily imagine that it is a remarkable change.

Next time, the other day, I will post a summary of impressions from everyone who has already installed it on this blog.Imagine this test data and refer to the voice of the person who actually installed it.
