Door stabilizers for Mazda vehicles are currently under development.
Have you ever wondered how your car doors stay closed?
This is a place you see every day, but to explain it again...the latch on the door side fits into the L-shaped striker on the body to hold it in place.
As you know, it is the weatherstrip that is in close contact, and there is a gap between the door and the body.
It may seem like there is a strong bond, but in fact that is not the case; to put it simply, it is like it is hanging from a hinge.
In other words, it does not function as part of the skeleton.
Now, we are developing "body reinforcement parts" that address these gaps.
Linear handling is only possible with a well-forged body. By filling in the vast openings on both sides of the monocoque, body rigidity is increased, improving steering response.
The product is expected to be compatible with a wide range of recent Mazda vehicles and is currently under development with the aim of launching it from this spring onwards.
Although it's still a while off, we made our debut at the recent Auto Salon, so we thought we'd give you an early sneak peek.
Please look forward to further updates!
