So, this time we will take a closer look at its structure and role.

A radiator cap is a pressure regulating valve that seals and pressurizes the cooling water passage, raising the boiling point of the coolant.
Equipped with a "pressure valve" and a "negative pressure valve" inside, the cooling water that expands due to heating is released into the reservoir tank when it reaches a set pressure, and when cooling is complete the negative pressure valve opens and the water is recovered from the tank.
It suppresses boiling, prevents the formation of steam films, and stabilizes heat exchange.

Also, one of the performance indicators, "valve opening pressure," is the pressure value at which the pressure valve begins to open.
The higher the value, the stronger the spring force of the internal valve spring, which allows the internal pressure to be maintained higher, raising the boiling point and increasing the margin under high load.
On the other hand, high pressure puts strain on hoses and seals, so please be careful when installing it on older vehicles.

The valve opening pressure of this product has been increased from 108kpa (1.1kgf/cm²) of the mass-produced product to 127kpa (1.3kgf/cm²). In theory, the boiling point of water rises from 121℃ to 124℃.
In addition, the seal uses silicone rubber, which boasts higher heat resistance than that used in mass-produced products, and is designed with high loads in mind.
