A look at the whole picture! ND Roadster engine project.
Last timeSince we made our "Fine Tuning Rebuilt Engine" development project public, we have received a much greater response than we could have imagined, and we have once again come to realise the high level of interest among ND Roadster owners.
Thanks to various technologies and improvements, the quality standards of modern engines, including the P5 engine in question, have improved significantly compared to those of a generation ago.
However, since it is mass production, some processes can be omitted and a certain degree of tolerance is allowed from the standpoint of production efficiency and cost.
This is the key to unlocking your true potential.
How smoothly can air be guided into the combustion chamber and then expelled? How well can we achieve the balance between the two different motions of reciprocation and rotation?
The level of completion is greatly influenced by the precise work that is possible only through handmade production, and the precision of the parts and assembly.
This product is a "rebuilt engine" in which the engine is disassembled, cleaned, inspected, and then any necessary parts are replaced and the engine is reassembled.
The parts used are the latest Mazda genuine parts, and not only have all consumable parts been replaced, but the pistons are improved later models. They are not hard-tuned, which makes them difficult to use and shortens their lifespan, but are designed to perform appropriately with mass-produced PCMs.
The reason for not using so-called tuning parts is to avoid changing the original character of the P5 engine.
The true value of this product lies in the refined, light-hearted feeling that cannot be achieved by simply pursuing power.
In our next post, we will introduce the specific processing steps we take to bring out these characteristics.
Please look forward to it.
